Default new to ford f250 powerstroke and forum

I just purchased a 2006 f250 ps. I am experiencing some power issues. It seems really sluggish on take off from dead stop. It idles fine and there are no check engine lights or anything of that nature. The truck has 99987 miles. Also there is a whining noise when accelerating. Is there anything I can do to fix this problem or should I return truck to the dealership?

A whining or a whistling/screaching noise?

Does the whining noise get louder when your rpms get higher?

I think the whistling is the turbo. The whining kinda reminds me of a transmission whine or something of that nature. Truck is slow to change gears at initial crank up and acceration. If truck has been running for a while, it shifts pretty quickly. At higher speeds, everything sounds fine. Is this normal? Truck has owner's manual with all the scheduled maintenance.

I did take the truck to the Ford dealership to have oil changed and inspection. They said all the fluids and air filter looked perfect. The acceleration is really my concern. There is no sputtering or missing or anything like that. Its my first diesel just basically trying to get all the bugs out if any. Thanks for your response!

Could be any number of things but we need a whole lot more info. Check out this here to get an idea of what we're looking for information wise, and then post back here.
