You could also just use a single variable geometry turbo from a 6.7

Maybe I'm asking for too much? Id like to spool quick but still be able to push a lot on the top end.

What you want is all around power - this is not what a compound setup is for. Compound turbos spool quicker but also you are running your exhaust through a lot when you are at top end. The variable geometry turbo's have a ring that changes the size of the exhaust housing. At idle you'll get boost and at top end you won't get a choked out engine.

Sounds like you are over fueling down low right now which would lead to snuffing the charger. If you can weld fab your own pipes and add a S475 or S480. It sounds like you have some tunning on the afc at the very mimal to try and take away some pre boost fueling.
