Oh and as far as what would happen if for some crazy reason the rack pin fell into th housing... You would loose AFC control... Be like having a ground foot... Turn off the truck and fix it. It's not like the truck would run away... just smoke.... ALOT
i just tried to turn my fuel pin 90* and the "plunger" that rides on the pin seems to be stuck pretty much closed. i havent adjusted the star wheel, but i got her all back together, and when you stand on it it seems like your tryin to drag a freight train! but will finally spool and get a little ***. but otherwise it couldnt pull a sick ***** off a toilet....

Boost leak? You lose a washer off teh ref line? should be two. Also pull the pin and make sure the deep part is towards the front. You should not see that much of a loss or gain from rotating the pin. A boost leak that does not let it cycle down will give you a large loss of power.

negative on the boost leak. the pin is correct. i was told to adjust the power screw behind and below the boost line, got post of the power back and alot of throttle response. but now my idle speed is too low and it wont rev all the way out...

Did you turn the full power screw the correct direction? Usually idle speed comes up as you adjust the full power screw; not down. Any chance someone could have already had the pin rotated and you set it back to "stock" try rotating it another 90* to go from the shallowest to the deepest a full 180* is needed. Better yet, pull the pin. (twist and pull) mark the point of the deepest cone on top of the diaphragm. Make sure the mark is facing the firewall upon re-installation. DO NOT cycle the throttle with the pin removed. It can over extend the pin and possibly damage the o ring that seals the pin from pump supply pressure. It only takes a screw driver to wiggle it back in place if it does push out. Sorry to hear you're having issues with your truck, usually the pin rotation and 1/2 turn or so on the full power screw wakes these trucks up like a junkie that just got a hit of adrenaline.
