One thing is the 205 doesn't have that low of a low range and hi is even worse for sled pulling. It's a 1:96 vs 2:71 in the 2nd gen trucks. Doesn't seem like alot but it's miles different went from 4lo 4th in a nv4500 to 4lo second with the np205 to get close to what he had.

I couldn't tell you what my running gear is right now, I could probably tell you tomorrow, I'll look at the ring for the stamped ratio. The truck was ordered straight from the factory by my uncle for pulling around the farm. He got the auto because he had MS and couldn't row gears, or maybe he couldn't operate the clutch... He had hand controls in it at one point in time. But it's hard to tell what gearing it is because it was a "custom" ordered truck. I'll be getting steel for trac bars shortly. How long is ideal? From axle to just under the cab? I want to avoid any wheel hop I can

Yep slightly behind the center line of the door and nothing wrong with an auto, they are handy at times plus you can also get into drag racing with the truck as well!

Power isn't your issue, it's weight. I pulled my truck (mods in sig.) and only went 70ft. and started spinning, because I didn't weigh enough and wasn't long enough.

Yeah, I'm going to look at the rules again. I'll probably be able to get away with stops. I need to see if I can get ahold of some tractor weights. I'm thinking of throwing a bunch of schedule 80 3" pipe on the bed. They're 10 foot a piece and are a buck and some change a piece

theyre only like 12lbs per stick... not worth it plus ud have to cut them all to fit in the bed.... Take your farmer buddy a case of beer and rob his tractor of about 2k of weights. Then you dont have to figure out what to do with 20 sticks of 8' pipe that will weight as much as 3 weights...
