Default Tranny rebuild

Is 2600 a good price for a rebuild and upgrade the torque converter

idk i no some people that have payed 1000 just for the torque convertor it would be nice if someone else stepped in

I just had a trans done new clutches new output shaft trans go stage one kit different ratio apply lever , tcs low stall converter , 2nd gen flex plate. all parts at cost. 2700. smokin deal as far as im concerned.

ah i think i depends on a few things like if you take the tranny out yourself and then what parts you get for the rebuild.

ouch i just got quoted 1200 to build a trans capable of holding 500hp no converter though

this guy has been building 727's for over 20 years! we call him the mopar man! haha
he has built trannys for stock cars to monster trucks! and everything in between!
and he gave me a 2 year guarantee! hes retired but helps lots of the local guys out!
i have nothing but faith in this guy! and whenever i can come up with the money well see how it goes!!

That's the kind of guy you want to find... Any shop that builds "Diesel" transmissions charges twice as much as a "muscle car" transmission would.

It's torque that kills transmission parts, not horsepower, so a 300 HP Diesel transmission needs to be as strong as a 600 HP V-8 engine. But if it's good for a hemi or built big block then it's good for a hotrodded Cummins.

yea i would trust an old muscle car guy over a diesel shop any day!!
this guy has a 69 charger! general lee!! pushing around 600hp!! without the nitrous!!
his back yard is like a mopar museum!!
his eyes lit up when i told him my truck had a 727 in it!! he swears there the best trans ever built!

and from what i understand heat is the biggest killer of your trans!! so im gonna put a big *** cooler with its own fan!
