Default industrial injection phatshaft 62 review

well i got my 3 piece manifold installed with my phatshaft 62 from industrial injection, i wanted to let you guys know how i liked it. i ordered a 62/65/14 and recieved a 62/65/12 but im going to try it since my egts are still manageable because i dont want to go without a turbo for a couple weeks.

well overall its a decent turbo. compared to my hx40 though im not too impressed. egts are 100 degrees lower than the hx40, and i now have 35 psi of boost instead of 30 (still gotta adjust the pump a bit). and it definitely sppols sooner than my 18cm housing hx40 did.

but overall to be completely honest i wasnt that impressed. my the seat of the pants feel, id almost think i never even swapped out turbos. its a little more comfortable with the drivability side. but considering at 1300 for the turbo and 400 for the manifold, i cant say id reccomend it to anyone for the 1700 dollars price tag. id almost wish i had just kept the hx40 and saved the other 1700. im definitely not all that impressed. if anyone else has any input im missing about this turbo let me know. but i expected a hell of alot more performance wise for the money

The turbo did its job really. It made you EGT's lower. That will allow you to add more fuel to get more out of it and be at the same EGT as the old unit. I can make 300 hp on a H1C but I can make 300 hp for alot longer with a better turbo. ( lower egt's ) Its all about managing the heat.

Exactly, Now start cranking up the fuel and watch that S300 carry you places a standard HX40 wont. Alos your S300 wont grenade on you when you bark it.

is the phatshaft an s300 based unit?

also, when i move to a p pump, should i keep the 5x.014's or you think that turbo will support even more fuel than that?

With 435 horse sticks ( 5x.014's ) on a p pump. ( with the pop pressure corrected ) they will make way more power then a VE with the same size stick. I would bet that you could make at least 150 to 200 more horses on a p pump then a ve. That will be enough to explode stuff.

thats what im going for. i hate how i only get roughly 3000 rpms too that gets old. im going to send my sticks back to sdx so they can get them ready for a p pump, if i do that and throw a p pump on it with a 4k gsk on it and some 60 lb valve springs should add 150-200 hp?
