Default 3 angle valve seats grinding

Alright if anybody ever has their head of and sent to a machine shop have them do a 3 angle grind on the valve seats. When my head gasket went out i did all my own head work at school. i did a three angle grind and before with the stock injectors and pump cranked i could hit 1200* egts pretty quick. now no matter how long i keep my foot in it with 100 horse pods i can barely get to 850*. alot less smoke and runs a hell of alot better.

i have a ported head off a 97 on my truck, DDP 80hp injectors, and my pump maxed out among other things, and i can't keep my egt's under 1300* at W.O.T. so i can't say that how you ground the valve seats would affect your egt's

thats what they do on high HP gas rigs to help the seal and flow but i would not see a benefit on a diesel being you have the turbo pushing the air

i dont know but it made i world of difference on my truck. i suppose the three angle grind just allows air to flow a little better.

Y'all be careful grinding on the valve seats as they are induction hardened, integral from the factory. Getting heavy-handed with the grinder can result in needing to install service valve-seats.
