Default head studs

i see headstuds from ARP on certain sites that say they fit 89-98 trucks, and on other sites it says 94-98. will 12v studs fit any 12v? or do i need to find specific studs.

and i also see it says machining on 2nd gens is mandatory to get the rockers to install. is that the case with 1st gens as well?

could someone please ignore the bull and just answer the guys question?
i cant say for sure because ive never done it but i cant figure out what the difference would be. the rocker block machining as well as the studs them selves should be the same. maby somebody who knows better will correct me. if nothin else you could prob call ARP directly to find out.

I am not sure about the studs, but the rocker machining is mandatory on the 1st gens too!

i am pretty sure thay are the same. and yes you need to have them machined it was only 75 bucks at herboth machine shop in marysville, if you dont get a true flat surface on the rocker blocks you wont get a true reading when you torque them down because the nut on the stud will move on the uneven surface
