Default Holley blue/return line?s

Alright guys I have a holley blue with no return line right now but the pump gets really hot. Should I put a return line on it, if so how should I go about doing it? Put the regulator on and run a line out of it and tie into the stock return or what?

IMO you need a check valve tee'd in to the supply line that opens at around 15 psi and recirculates it back to the tank.

The Holley is a 14psi pump. Operating temperature will not be affected much by a regulated feed due to the design being a rotary vane driven with an external DC motor.

How hot is "hot?"

it idles around 14psi it Pretty hot can't lay my hand on it for more than 2-3sec. I thought it was the pressure bucause of the stock return system.
