Default Injector questions.

1.) what are the signs of injectors going bad? been having problems with my truck on and off, white smoke, haze at idle then it's fine then it comes back.

2.) worth it to pull and clean them?

3.) can I rebuild them, and stick on new nozzles if I get them pop tested?

4.) who sells nozzles for a first gen? I can find plenty of nozzles for second gen's

personally if it came down to it I would rather just get new injectors but thats not really in m budget, just need the truck reliable.

Those signs are a good indication of injectors going bad. The white smoke and such is a cause of the injector going bad and may be cracked or a number of other things. My suggestion though is do small cheap things first in case its not your injectors. Could be a cracked gasket somewhere. Just worth checking into before you buy expensive things. You cant go wrong with new injectors but if you cant afford it I would have then pop tested and then new nozzles. It would be much cheaper.

Need to find a way to check fuel pressure easily, gonna go over some stuff and see if Cummins down the street can help me out at all with parts or advice. From my previous exchange with them they seemed to be unwilling to talk parts or work unless I had a CR truck. And the Bosch dealer took 2 weeks to tell me they could get me a gov. spring in another week.. hate to see a response on nozzles!

I've got the same white smoke problem as well, except I get tons of it at idle. I'm looking to upgrade the sticks. Are the Dynomite Diesel 80 hp injectors worth the price? How about the Pure Diesel Power 120hp?

If you are looking into 2nd gen 24v nozzles I don't think they will work compared to 1st gen due to the mechanical vs. electrical issue. Im sure 2nd gen 12v nozzles will work though at least I don't see why not. Get a hold of the fellas over at Southern Diesel Extreme. Their knowledge is vast and they can help you with all the questions you might have and they are sponsors so you can contact them right here on the site. You can also post here https://www.dieselbombers.com/price-...request-price/ and ask for first gen nozzles from the sponsors. They will be more than happy to help you.

DDP are great nozzles or injectors but they come at a hefty price. If you have the money I suggest them, if not, there are other good products out there. Get together with one of the sponsors and they will help you in making a choice and give you a good deal just post in the https://www.dieselbombers.com/price-...request-price/ and request prices for the size of injectors you want. They will treat you right.
