Fuel rate increases in percentage are not as easily calculated as it is being made to sound. If your injector has 6 orifices @ 0.010" each, and you add an additional 6 orifices @ 0.010" each, your flow increase will be much greater than 100%. For instance, increasing hone size from 5x0.010" to 5x0.016" is a 127% increase in flow 1.825LPM compared to 4.136LPM. Bosch's higher hole count nozzle design is setup where the contact patterns of the different cone angles overlap, I have yet to hear of an aftermarket injector using that design.

hmmmm I meant 100% increase in physical size, sorry.

what about making a 12 hole where the patterns overlap so that 2 streams would "meet" at the edge of the bowl? is that kinda what your describing there?

ahh heck with it all.. lets just design a barebones CR system for the trucks in aftermarket, that would be easier

Let me do some measurements, I would be willing to try it.

You can see in that pattern there is no overlap, problematic using a re-entrant style piston in my opinion.

i dont know what style piston they had on there, but de-lipping them is a common thing to do with builds.

With a 52mm bowl opening and the second pattern being added 0.040" lower, the lower pattern angle would need to be 150° to overlap. This of course is only the XY axis, the W axis would need to be calculated depending on how far the offset was between orifices.

would it even be physically possible?

the spray patterns, maybe using 2 rows of holes would have to go towards each other to get the overlap, i see that being tricky to do out of a round nozzle. could be a fun experiment tho.

after I get some new injectors (planning for january) I could send you my stockers to experiment with.

I have the numbers I think I am going to use, may just give this a try on a 5x0.009" nozzle. One thing I think that needs to be taken into account when adding the lower offset pattern is the direction of swirl in the piston bowl, this pattern may compliment it.
