That Bitch is HUGE too... I think he will have fun yanking that all the way to Alaska.

i put in a aem intake and 4" exhaust helped my EGT'S
some times i hit 12's we have a couple steep hills here.
i usually only hit 12's when i'm not watching the gauge. when i see it i let off a bit to bring it back down to at least 9 or 10's

i think like shortbed said have a straight pipe might help a bit too. anything for less restriction

Alright here's the deal on what I've done to the truck. Full power screw 120 degrees, smoke screw 3/4 of a turn, diaphragm turned 120 degrees clockwise, and the starwheel 3/4 I think. The truck has the nv4500, banks intercooler, and a 3 inch exhaust with muffler (I think that's the big problem). What I plan to do about it? 4 inch stan's headers exhaust is on the way, BHAF on the way, and 14cm banks turbine housing is getting installed(this is a B!tch after 20 years of egt heat treating). I think this will put me back in the green on my pyro. The trailer I have to pull is a 28' enclosed and is going to be around 12000 pounds loaded. I hope to keep the temps so i can pull 5th gear on flat ground around 1000F or less. If anyone has the template for a easy BHAF mount I could use a picture of it. Let me know what ya'll think.

Those r 2 templets for the BHAF mount u can use.
Glad you made it over here! Once you get the BHAF, and Stans system on, u should be back where it belongs. Did you get the 4" downpipe as well?
I wouldnt worry about playing with the "smoke screw", you want to back it out a long ways, as it has a tendancy to add heat when cruising. I used to run mine at 2 turns in, the ran it back almost stock, maybe 1/2 turn in, and lost 50-100* cruising.
The 14cm housing will be a big help too.
I just wrote a very detailed tech article on the fuel pin inside the AFC housing, check it out, even if you dont grind the pin, there is real good info in turning the pin it self:

You know what the problem is, the trailers the wrong color, hehehe. :se:

Turbine housing is installed, and it seems to help some, maybe 150 degrees. Any of u guys ever messed with maste gate on these banks housings or is it best to leave em be? I might back that smoke screw off some, and see if i can drop another 100F off or so. Exhaust will be the ticket. The midas life time POS muffler that's on there now $ucks. You get guages yet Jason?

NV4500 swap. I put it in,and it's worth every penny, swear work, and drop of blood it takes to get it in there. The only thing that's a pain is lifting it, and grinding the Advanced adapters bell housing so the fly wheel will clear it. I got it from Standard transmission out of texas. I don't know if there as good as Quad 4x4 but there warranty was better, and the price was too. If your going to do the swap make sure you swap the cast aluminum tail shaft housing for a cast iron one before you install the 4500. The Aluminum one will crack in time. Make sure you get a south bend clutch and throw it in there as well the stock ones suck.

Stanley

Good to hear ya droped a few degrees. I bet you'll lose a few more if ya cut/gut that muffler. U got guages? how much boost r u running? 35 is about the max safe boost for stock head gaskets, n not using studs.

I bet it is a pain, I helped a bud with a nv 4500 on a chebby n it was a major beotch puttin it back in! "give:
