Default HX40 tops out at 16lbs?

My hx40 is only pushing 16lbs of boost with my boost elbow completely shut and my egts have gone all the way up to 1000° before I back out of the throttle... What could cause this? Is this something that Im not properly fueled for or is my turbo junk? could the pstroke intercooler cause it?

that seems odd......... maybe a blockage somewhere in the system is causing that. how long have you been running that setup?

Since shortly after I got it.. I did the turbo intercooler and gauges.. I cranked the fuel screw up and now I'm seeing 21lbs max.. I think it may be the cheapo spectra brand boots on it.. I'm gonna throw them away soon anyhow.. Is there any way to test that?

Changing your boots probably won't help. The HX40 moves a high volume of air. The PSD intercooler cools a lot of air. The A518 TC takes a lot of load off the engine. All these things add up to low boost and EGT. Actually a good thing to see. What you need are bigger injectors to put all that cool high volume air to use. How big depends on what you want to use your truck for. And a better than stock torque converter to get that power to the wheels.

I kinda figured I needed bigger injectors.. I was thinking a 5x.014 for a daily driven truck that hauls a few times a month and plays a lot.

I would do some research on different injector brands. Some will flow more fuel than others and could pose an EGT issue when hauling. A set of 5X.012 may serve you better overall with the HX40. I run 7X.010s and a 62/65/13 turbo in my work truck. Plenty of low end power and it stays cool.
