Default Project: D-Bomb

Well due to unforeseen circumstances, I am scrapping my 75 Build, for many reasons. I have decided to buy a first gen 250 4X4 Cummins 5spd truck. I am waiting and watching and hoping something comes around at a good price. Anyways I got just a few questions to ask.

What can a Getrag360 stand up to? I know you should overfill them, dont rest your hand/arm on the shifter. Don't lug in 1-4 and dont hammer hard on 5th. But I am going to build the engine I have then swap it into the truck when its done, and I plan on having a ENGINE (Capitalization used to emphasize power) It is going to be a Frankenstein engine. But its going to be a P-Pump engine, I have the P-Pump and I have worked out a deal of sorts with a company, and its going to be made into a 13mm pump, with a more aggressive lift cam. I plan on a Hamilton Cam (There 2.6 Puller cam), fly cut pistons. I also am talking to some people about custom injectors. There is a ton more to this build, in the turbo, Intercooler, intake, Water/Meth, etc.

But I plan to have a overly hot engine that will be driven on the street, and used at the pulls. My plan in that the 1st Gen body, will throw people off. I don't plan on stacks, but I plan on a wicked paint job, with some neat corresponding things.

The paint is going to be in a gloss Olive Drab, and its going to be painted to look like its sheet metal, rivets and seems and all then on top of it, its going to get the nostalgic shark face painted on it.

So I am going for the old WWII Bomber look. Then I plan on trying to get some attention (Good Attention) For myself and this board. I hope to impress the guys at diesel power magazine, and I hope to take place in there Diesel Challenge once i get the truck done. I am wanting some publicity, to show that these old trucks and engines still got the power.

I plan on once I get the truck done and get it dialed in, to log everything here, every detail, so that other people have a idea where to start so they can adjust for there truck. I do not believe in this Secret Squirrel BS, I figure if you guys are nice enough to help me, I should be able to answer any question honestly. I plan on the engine being hefty built yet simple mechanically. Heck even if I just put down some good truely impressive dyno number I will be happy.

And just in case, I want to give credit where it is do, the name D-Bomb, obviously came from this place. D-Bomb, being short for Diesel Bomb.

I want to thank you all in general, for being a group of people who are easy to talk to, and helpful as can be.
