Default HP estimate next upgrade

hi guys im new to the site and just wanted to say thanks for all the excellent information that everyone has posted. My question is what upgrade should come next looking to do something in the next month or so and needing to know which way to go. I was thinking about going ahead and ordering the 5" turbo back exhaust and either a 33% or 88% over cp3. Not sure which way to go on the cp3. my signature is up to date. Also, could someone take a guess at horsepower/torque numbers im putting out...I live in the middle of nowhere and dont have a dyno even remotly close.

I'm not too familiar with the CR's, but exhaust is a most definite! I'm kinda surprised everything else has been done before the exhaust.

i just put all these parts on last week except the quadzilla. I had a sprag go out in the tourque converter so in gear with the brake pushed and no foot on the gas pedal the truck would tourque up. i just replaced the whole transmission and decided what the heck ill just go ahead and throw some money at it and do it all at once. I new i needed an exhaust just didnt know that 1" in diameter would make that big of a difference.

i done 610hp and 1100 tq on ddp 90s with a silver bullet and edge/mp8 stack so depending on the dyno i'd say anywhere from 550-600

I would say you are around 550-600 HP at the moment.. Before adding anymore fuel you need ensure your turbo can handle it.. What are your EGT's & DP's like with your current Turbo? If your pushing the limit on EGT's/DP's now, a upgraded CP3 is gonna make it worse.. Ask Todd at TC Diesel his opinion.. For a DD truck a 33% over CP3 is best, 88% over is not intended for a DD unless you want to swap out the FCA between track and DD use.. Save your money on the 5" exhaust and put it towards compound turbos or something else like internal motor durability up grades.. A 5" exhaust is not needed until crossing the 800-850HP range and you won't get there on your current turbo setup.. If it was me, and going for big HP goals your gonna have to upgrade (In Order) Turbo (compounds), Fueling & then internal engine up grades then possibly an exhaust.. When you go big on power your moving out of the DD range and moving into the Race only mode and then your talking internal motor upgrades to save the motor.. You need to figure out your HP goals and if you have the coin to go big.. 600-650 HP makes a good DD.

Just my .02 cents.. Good Luck

honestly, i havent drove it yet. My wife picked it up at the shop after all the upgrades, drove it straight home and there it sits. I have been at work for the last 3 weeks and havent driven yet so egt's i dont know. the turbo is an industrial injection silver bullet 64and if i remember right they said it was good up to 750. Stupid question but what are DP's?

his egts could actually go down slightly with the modified cp3 and just adding the pump isnt going to make a huge hp difference unless hes really running the rail low but he could pick up 30-40hp. depending on where hes running the smarty he could be running low on rail pressure right now like if hes running it on sw7 or sw9. and imo 5" exhaust is never needed the restriciton is the turbine wheel not the exhaust so 4" is plenty even the turbine on a S480 is only 3.6"

Yeah, guess I wasn't clear on that.. I was assuming he would go higher with his tuning if he up graded the cp3..
