Need information. Things like:

1. Tire size.
2. Speeds you drive the truck.
3. What do you use the truck for?

If you are just looking to lower cruising speed?

Find a calculator and do the math and see what RPM's that would throw you at 65mph. You'll need to know tire size (inches) and tranny overdrive ratio.

2.73 will be somewhere between 1000 and 1500 drop. Im not sure what 308 will do. And how do I find out my over drive raito?

Unless you are on the highway 95% of the time going to even a 3.08 may hurt your mileage. In around tow/city and stop and go traffic you will be using more throttle to get her moving, hence worse mileage.
