Default new 04 3500

Hey, new to the diesel world. had my truck for 4000 miles and wont go back!!!! ok now thats out of the way i wan to start playing with it. Im thinking of going with a S&B intake and manifold, silverline exhuast 4 inch turbo back, and power it with a edge cts with attitude. how does that sound? its a 6spd so the tranny im sure will hold. but the question i have is where do i buy my parts to get the best deals, from what i can tell xtremediesel.com seems to be the best. so if i can get some input that would be great.

Everything you mentioned is just about perfect for a new diesel owner to get his feet wet. The Edge gives good power without being hard on parts like turbos and clutches, though you may find you'll be at the upper limits of both, especially if you spring for the "HOT" unlock (i was). It keeps an eye on all the important stuff like EGT's, Boost, Trans/Clutch slip and de-fuels the engine if anything gets out of kilter. The exhaust and intake are good pieces also and should blend well with the Edge.

As far as who to buy from, go to the Home Page here and click on the Price Quote / Request a Price section. Post what you are looking for and when you click Submit, it will be forwarded to the dozens vendors here. If they have what you are looking for, they will contact you with a PM and their best price.

The guy i bought the truck from just put a new clutch in it and it feels really strong, as far as the edge goes the defueling aspect of things is why im going that route. good to know that with this package set up i will gain more power with out the worry of breaking things.

Sounds like you have a pretty good plan laid out! I would also recommend looking into the Quadzilla Adrenaline programmer. It's a lot like the Edge but adds fine tuning as well. I love mine!

You already have a 4" exhaust except for the down pipe.......you don't need anything else right now with the mods you show. Save your money. Your stock air box is also very efficient......just mod it......again save your money.

Ok, so i just read up on the Quadzilla. sounds like a great little unit, and it looks like it comes with everything in it to get its guages to work, were the edge you need to buy all the sensors extra, correct me if im wrong, but does it defuel the truck if the EGT gets out of control?

so you are saying to just do a down pipe? and what mods for the intake are you suggesting?

Yep. The quad will defuel with EGT and/or over-boost if you want it too. It came with everything I needed... The only think I don't have is the trans temp but I want a seperate gauge for that.

I wouldn't even worry about a down pipe replacement with your mods.......I would cut a 4" hole in the bottom of your air box and place a section of 4" PVC along with some dryer hose connected to it.......do a search and you can find the directions.
