efi live injection event removal
I was watchin youtube last night and saw quite a few videos with trucks that have the pilot injection event removed. It really does change the sound of the engine....it sounds good. But i thought the 3rd event was the one to be removed because it was for emissions. Anyone here doin this with your trucks? Are you seeing more fuel economy with one less injection event? just curious

removing the pilot injection is like removing the small fire that lights the big fire obviously.
its great for fuel economy because it helps burn all the fuel and reduces knocking noise that you like to hear.
if you pay attention sometimes under WOT you can hear it switch from having pilot injection to no pilot injection. by the engine noise.
one problem with race tunes is that with a pilot injection is that it can drain the fuel rail much quicker causing you to run a smaller pulse width for the main injection.
timing is also affected as well since there are different tables for having pilot on or off.
