Default Smarty for towing

I'm sure there's a thread on here somewhere about this but my question is, what is the best setting to put my smarty on to lower my EGT? I am pulling a 12,000 lb 5th wheel from Las Vegas to OKC (12,000 lb empty, but far from empty). It's about 1100mi or so.

I've got the smarty currently on sw3 for the timing. Temps been around 100+*. My egt has been easily getting up to 1200+(I don't like to go higher so I back out of it). I Know a nice compound set up would probably do the trick but that's out of the question right now. If I'm gonna spend money I don't want a water/meth inj. system either.

Also, would a CAI make that big of a difference on the EGTs?

any help/guidance would be appreciated
thanks, DJ

If you have power on demand POD set it at 60 to 80 You can run 1600 plus for short bursts like up hills so don't sweat 1200! That you can run all day! Only other choices are run a bigger turbo or spray it!
