Question New Bd turbo, converter, valve and flex plate.

Howdy partners, ive got an issue here ,im hoping yall can shed some light on this ,,i have a 06 ,2500 with a 5.9. i just finished installing a few things , and i have a few issues ...., i installed a Bd Diesel super b turbo,,,,a Bd valve body, Bd torque converter and Bd fexplate . everything went on fine , but now that i drive it , i feel the truck has lost power ,on the highway a cloud of black smoke comes out the stacks before the transmision kicks in , hard shifting (specially 3rd) truck (basically) jumps when switching from reverse to N to drive ,,,, and know the turbo issue it makes somewhat of a whistling noise when i floor it another issues is when parked and i accelerate and let off the pedal i would like to say it surges but i dont know what to call it. it doesnt go down normal (smooth) it kind off goes back pused. HELP ME PLEASE.

You have to learn the turbo! You can't just floor it. Go into it untill it spools up then you can hammer it! Whistle is normal sounds cool huh! As far as the shifting get used to it It's a truck!! Surge is normal for a common rail takes a few seconds to drop the rail pressure. Enjoy your mods your gonna need a boost fooler and harness cap for the turbo plug in. Don't forget the Smarty!

Hi,dangerous1965 thanks for the reply, with the stock turbo i would floor it on the highway to pass a vehicle and it would imediatelly respond and the shifting was smooth ,i do have a controller it's the Bully Dog PMT , i followed the installation instructions to the tee but im wondering if maybe i missed something ,.,,, sow after "the upgrades " its normal for the transmission to be this ruff and to not respond quickly ? ........sorry ,,,you can tell its my first build.

It's not the trans it's the turbo that needs to "Light off" before power can be made. The tranny will react to pedal input and speed. Try this: I hope you have guages! Build your boost to about 20psi or 2000rpm while going up a hill would be best! then floor it and let the tranny go thru the gears. How does it shift? 2nd 3rd OD lock up should be around 45 50 MPH it should really pull hard then! Stop before you hit warp drive and disappear! Post what it does! Are your u-joints good? carrier bearing good? just check everything in the drive train!

Do you have any fuel upgrades? Have you replaced the governor pressure sensor, I had similar problems along with shuttle shift replaced the sensor and was golden.

Hello again ,dangerous1965 ,well i did what you said and it does go a bit quicker but i cant say WOW, (know what i mean ). ive read on threads that its suppose to be a huge difference sow im thinking there has to be something wrong ,...------------------------------ Here's what i have on the truck,,,,,,,,Bully Dog PMT--Bully Dog Fluid Damper High Performance Crank Pulley --- Banks Intake Horn and intercooler kit ---BD Diesel Torque converter- BD flywheel- BD valve bodies- BD two piece exhaust manifold- BD super b turbo , and what i have not installed but do have is BD lift pump , AEM water/meth kit, and the Bank's Big Hoss intake manifold,.... ,,,,, sow what im trying to do is build me a daily driver that i can take to the track on weekends,I want a 12 second or less truck . any recomendations?

Hello muddinfreak89, nope at the moment no fuel upgrades but i do have a BD lift pump just gotta get some time to put it in. ... ............... sow the governor pressure sensor ey , well the truck is an 06 and has 89000 on it sow it would be time for a change anyways,..... there was really nothing wrong with the truck im just trying to build it slowly and i just guessed (from reading forums ) these ''up grades'' would make a big difference. im just glad i decided to go with the super b instead of the killer b, at least i can compound, hopefully that will make a huge difference..

Put in the lift pump and maybe a set of 50hp injectors. 90hp if you don't care about milage. If your serious about power i would look at the Smarty or efi live set up!
