Default Could use advice on exhaust and intake...

I have a 2005 Dodge std. cab cummins 2500 4X4 it's current mileage is 49,000 the original owner put a cat back system on it. I know the truck comes with a 4" from the turbo back originally; is it more beneficial to step up to a 5" turbo back or just stick with the 4" and delete the cat? I have no idea what the muffler is... I was considering Diamond Eye. I had it on my 02 and loved the sound... For mods all I plan is a smarty jr, lift pump with air seperator, and intake... which leads me into my next question. On ebay I have seen a intake made by "Bills custom intakes" That looks like a great intake for the money and includes a S&B air filter for $179.00 seems like a smoken deal... Any advice. I would like to get away from the "perforated" inlet tube seems like it would create alot of disturbance in air flow??? Your guys' advice is greatly appriciated!!!

If you don't plan on pulling much I would go with 4 inch. You can only push so much exhaust just driving. I personally wouldn't go with a questionable company like that. I could go make "custom intakes" with some paper towel rolls and duct tape if I wanted haha. But you never know either. I'd get rid of that cat though, they definatley don't benifit you!
Good luck with what-ever you put on

AFE stage 2 and 5 in MBRP turbo back is the combo i started out with, might be alittle more picier than others but you get what you pay for

The problem with a 5inch exhaust unless your pushing crazy horsepower, running ***** out all the time, or pulling huge loads, is that your not pushing enough exhaust to keep adequate back pressure to keep your engine at a good operating temp. Even though the temp gauge may say your at temp, if you were to put a digital temg gauge on it would be 5 to 15 degrees off a good temp. That and it will take WAY longer to let it warm up. I wouldn't have the 5 inch on my truck if it wasn't for the fact that I pull a 36 foot living quarters trailer loaded down all the time.

Im currently in the middle of purchasing a brute Force intake and MBRP exhaust, after my guages i was gonna save for a tranny rebuild, would my truck be able to handle a smarty jr without the tranny rebuild? Stock 2007 Cummins atm.

I pu a 5" exhaust on mine, and you are right about the temp . Takes alot longer to start blowing hot air and my temp gauge acts more like a tachometer now
