Default ZF6 swap

I've been searching on here but can't seem to find anything on swapping a ZF6 into a 3rd gen. Not that I'm going to run out and do it but if it's not too bad I just might kick the idea around for a bit till I convince myself. That tranny is the only thing I miss about my Fords. This G56 IMO sucks. So.....if anyone has done this swap, post up. Also, pics are a plus.

What dont you like about the G56? I think to swap a ZF6 into your truck you will need a bellhousing adaptor plate which i think destroked makes for the tune of like 800 bucks. You would need custom built driveline and them all the pedal, hydraulic stuff, etc. I just dont think its that fesable to do. If its the clutch you hate you need a southbend clutch with a rigid flywheel and get ride on that dual mass piece of **** thats in there

There's a few things I don't like about the 56. I've been kicking the idea around about swapping the 5600 cause it was in the Dodges at one time, but got to thinking (scary thought) "what about the ZF6? I sure liked it in my Fords" I did some searching on the net and found some Fords with zf's and Cummins.....so why not the same in a Dodge?

Ok, thanks.

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

OK so I've been searching high and low and all I've found is adapters for the zf6 to cummins.......but they are meant for the cummins swap into a ford. I read of a "I saw one once" tale of a 3rd gen dodge with a zf6 but no pics to back it up. I guess I'll just keep wanting and one day maybe I'll just do the swap.

why wouldnt you just swap a NV5600 into it? they are much stronger than the G56
it would be ALOT easier and cheaper to IMO

I'll be putting a 06 CR cummins in my f350 this winter. I'll be using the destroked trans plate. I do like the ZF6, but IMO it shifts more like a dumptruck. The G56 shifts more like a car. I was told at ford this is because the S6 650 ZF6 can hold way more power and troque. The cut on the gears are more square and this is what gives it it's clunkyness.

I have a 92 ram250, and have everything for the swap except for hydralics figured out. (I think). Any body have any suggestions for the hydraulics? I don't know what the lines where like? Anybody know if the fittings on the ford slave where the same as the slave on the getrag?
