help is there more to it then just the valve body?

 

Did you buy a whole new valve body or are you installing a shift kit with new electronics. Either way all you need to do is drop the transmission pan. Make sure you take your time taking out the C-Clip that holds the parking pawl, it's kind of a pain. A long pair of skinny needle nose pliars will be your best friend.

 

VB swap is easy, you just have to disconnect all the external conections and linkage and remove the bolts. Don't mess around with the park rod c-clip, jack up one rear wheel so you can pull the rod attached to the VB. Roll the wheel slowly while pulling the VB forward and the rod will pull thru the pawl easily when it lines up with the notch.
