You can do it on the ground.
Just make sure to secure the transmission to the transmission jack.
pull the transmission, then the flywheel. The flywheel is a dual mass, so you have to pull the bolts for the flywheel the same way you do for a torque converter, throught the access hole in the transmission mount on the engine. Passenger side. After that, you can remove the flexplate from the engine.
Install SBC Flywheel
Install SBC clutches and floating plate
Install SBC Pressure plate
Install SBC Throwout bearing
REMOVE the washer from behind the pivot ball!!!
Install transmission.
Enjoy!!
EDIT - Make sure to break the clutch in. Put the transmission in 1st, lightly drag the clutch until truck starts to roll, then blip the throttle a couple of times. Now let the clutch cool. Do it again. Now just drive it normal, but without really pushing the power. Give it about 100 miles of city driving to really seat in.
