had a k&n intake on both of my trucks and there was plenty of turbo noise vs stock intake.

I have a K&N CAI tube with a bigger S&B filter, works better then the K&N filter did. Lots of Turbo music

it can and eventually will. my dad ran a k&n on his 99 forever, and when we pulled the turbo to put in a banks exhaust housing and wastegate, there was a dirt oil mix all inside the compressor housing, and when you would rotate the wheel you could feel dirt like on the shaft, i personally stay away from oiled filters now, i have an AEM brute force with the dryflow filter and i love it, to clean it i just soak it in some woolite and water and dry it out, good as new, theres also AFE pro dry, and ive heard nothing but good things about that intake.

I have the Airaid MXP S2 intake system & my silencer ring is MIA. Needless to say I think it is a great intake and it gives you +MPGs, increased throttle response, & your turbo will whistle a bit more! I don't know much about the S&B but you can't go wrong with the Airaid.
