Default So Many Decisions....Boxes, Monitors, Programmers, Gauges

I was pretty much set on a Smarty with Dipricol gauges but now I'm not sure. There are sooooo many options out there! I was wondering what everybodies thoughts were. I just saw the new TS monitor with the heads up display that monitors fuel pressure and I like it. Box with monitor, box with gauges, gauges with programmer???

I probably would have gone with the edge with attitude, but it only became available 6 to 8 months (for my truck) after buying the hot comp. I've planned on stacking a Smarty all along, but haven't laid down the coin.

The gauges have always been something I wanted separate from any other toys. Of course if it was all crammed into one display, I would probably have gotten used to it by now.

I like to keep the gauges seperate from the box, but that is my opinion. The issues with tuners is you don't have adjustability on the fly that you have with the Edge and Bully Dog combo's have. Have you looked at the Bully Dog PMT? If you want the best power for the buck and some adjustability on the fly, you could use the Diablo Sport Puck Stack. 180 hp out of the box with a in cab switch for 50 hp or 90 hp with the puck. I have this on my brothers 07 Mega Cab and Autometer C2 gauges and we love it. Can't beat the hp for dollar value of the Diablo. Let us know if we can help.

It would be great if they would make the DSP5 work for my LBZ, but it only takes 2 minutes to switch tunes as it is with EFI, so it's still better than a boxed tuner. My 59 yo dad will be soon taking advantage of the DSP5 in his LLY though. He is sick of the mileage with his Edge...Kind of cool when your old man is as enthusiastic about it as I am. Should be in by next weekend if the switches are ready.

I picked the Edge. It's what I run and it's more than enough fueling for what you have done to your truck. If you plan on a turbo(s) and tranny along with about 10k more of stuff then you mayb e better off going with the Smarty now and stack later. The Juice is nice because of all of the built in safety features you won't find in other products. The user control is really sweet. Plus, you can get the Hot unlock code for it as well. The 06 and newer have even more features with the monitor because they are now reading the OBD2 data stream by pluggin right into the connector underneath your steering wheel.

I'm pretty set on a smarty working in conjunction with my analog gauges, but thats just me.

DM, I know a local guy that comes to a lot of our get togethers that runs the ottomind 6 with the banks power pda, and he seems to really like it.
