Default Twins?

Thinking about twin turbos for my 03. Any thoughts pro or con, last chance before going to a freight liner to haul my BBQ trailer. EGTs are killing me, I added the Snow water-meth injector, still trying to lower my EGT. Currently get 1300-1400 on hills at 65mph local dealer stated twins would give me a 200 degree drop and better milage for $4000

$4000 is an extremely lot of money. I was looking at your sig and wondering how you were getting so much egt's and then saw your trailer! Wow! You could bbq with your exhaust manifold going up hills if ya like things charred -. If you run your Edge Juice w/att on 5 or 6 it will get your egt's up when going uphill no matter what. BUT- you do have the option of setting your max egt's and the JWA will back the fuel off til it stays at your max setting. But you are like me and all the other enthusiasts, we want the power we have without the backoff and want to have manageable egt's. Compounds (not twins)(sorry for the vernacular adj) is the right way to go. Since you are the tow master - with the world's biggest trailer - you need a bigger small turbo (hx40 is great and low priced) and a not too big big turbo. I would not go bigger than an hx50. If you go bigger on the big one it will spool slower (still probably ok) and will end up making more boost (which is heat). Crap - I overlooked this - you need an intercooler and you need it now. An intercooler will lower your egt's faster than anything. And if you did the other mod's you can do the intercooler yourself. Compounds are just that compounds - a good idea but complex, hard to install, but have good rewards. Right now simplify and get an intercooler - I saw a brand name one on sale right now for only $1023. It would do as much good for one quarter of the price. If you pm me later we can talk compounds they are cool.

I run the juice at level 2-3 most of the time. Adding Snows stage 3 water meth, inter cooler, air dog 150, and the dual turbos 1 big, 1 smaller. I'll dyno after the build and may add 150hp injectors depending on the EGTs after build. I'll post photos of the project. Estimated output about 675-700 hp motor, not including the water meth boost. Looks like I'm headed for Sturgis in Aug. 1600 miles 1 way, truck, trailer and RV (Frig-n Support Vehicle)

No reason to be concerned with those EGTs on a 555 motor... could run all day at 1350*F

Excursions to 1600*F are also fine for less than 30 seconds - 1500*F is good for a few minutes at at time, especially if you have an oil temp gauge to monitor.
