boost gauge pulse
This makes perfect sense to me, but if its true, which i dont doubt. Why would genos sell this bolt? i was going to tap my gauge into the intake, but figured it would be easyer to just get this "boost bolt" and that would be that. has others had this issue? Im going to try and find some time to check my valve lash this week, or just change location of the gauge. the only thing that worries me is that i do get a pop when i have the truck in neutral, and give it a qucik rev. I will figure it out i guess. it seems to be powerful enough and starts right up fast.
I have the same issue, first I thought it was because of using a boost bolt, So then I tapped the intake manifold elbow, that didn't help, so then I changed from 1/8" to 1/4" air line. This helped some, but did not completely fix it. It still "flutters" 1 to 2 psi while spooling up. Its stops fluttering when I hold steady throttle. Its been like this for 3 years.

In my opinion the airline is still to big.
I use an airline with a 2/16" inside diameter.
Try to decrease the inner diameter. Insert a small tube with a length of 4" into the airline.
This "limiter" decreases fluctuations. Pulses, and "flutters" should be gone.

Simply moving my gauge source from a boost bolt to the intake horn reduced my gauge flutter by about 90%. Used to be wicked bad, now I hardly notice it. It's connected with the very small, like 1/16 tubing or something like that. I think if you source it from the turbo outlet it would be rock steady with any size line.
huh, so this is kind of a common issue with autometer and the boost bolt set up? makes me feel better. I drove back to work thismorning, it was like 32 degrees, and the needel for who knows what reason was much steadyer the whole 2.5 hour ride, so im going to guess its a issue with the boost bolt/location and the plastice cheap line going to the gauge. the trucks running fine.
There are zero problems tapping into the manifold for boost reference. No bounce, no pressure wave, nothing. I have tapped MANY trucks at that point with no issues.

I think its just an autometer thing on certain gauges. I eliminated the boost bolt and went to 1/4" black air line. Still flutters. I'm gonna try Deezel Stink3r's idea and see if that works.
Always use the same bolt?
Maybe you should try a different one sometime and see if that "zero" is really as absolute as you seem to think it is.
