Yes and I took the bed off for my install. If you have the means to do it that way (lift or a couple friends) I would! I'm gonna do it that way again for my 12v! My avatar pic is when I was doin the install.

Getting the bed off with the help of a few friends is a whole lot easier than dropping the tank. All depends on how much help you can get.

If you do it, either nod the cannister with a new draw straw or get a replacement cannister. Do not do a seperate draw straw.

If you don't have a lift pump already in the tank, the AirDog-100 can use the stock pick-up in the tank.

The AirDog-150 and 165 requires the use of a draw straw by either dropping the tank or removing the bed to gain access to the tank.

The sending unit is then removed and a coffee can or something can be inserted to catch the shavings from the hole that needs to be drilled in the top of the tank for the draw straw.

According to AirDog, if you already have a lift pump in the tank, a draw straw MUST be used if you upgrade to one of their pumps or another performance pump as the in-tank lift pump will not allow fuel to be pulled through it.

Just like the stock lift pump on your filter canister won't allow your truck to run now. It's dead and it won't allow the CP3 injection pump to draw fuel through it. If that dead lift pump wasn't there, your truck would run. The GM DuraMax engines use the same CP3 injection pumps as your Cummins but dI beleive they don't use a lift pump at all.

I guess it just took awhile to realize that was a bad idea.

If you have an intake pump the kit will include a draw straw. Just make sure you let who you buy it from know that you have the intank pump. 04.5+ Cummins all include draw straws.
