Can i put a smarty on my 2004 ram with out making any changes to my motor

It reprograms the ECM. Any other mods on the truck in question??

theres alot of ways you can go.. usually adding more power = less mpg.. but, if you get a chip, you can set it to different settings.. usually power (1-4), mpg, tow etc... also, some sort of cold air intake and exhaust will help. anythig to lower egts will help too...

My uncle has a smarty on his 07 dodge. He keeps it on level 5 and it hasnt messed with his mpg at all....unless he plays with it ofcourse

Luke is correct again - Gauges are a must. If you really want to get the best mileage - just drive smart. It will usually do more than any add on and costs zero. It is nice and fun to put on add-ons, power is fun, and if you put on add-ons and drive smart - you will love your vehicle more and have more fun when its time to "burn." Start with basics after the gauges, exhaust, intake filter and manifold, THEN box as without the rest the box does not "do" its best. All things help, and the mfg's and retailers will help you with their experience. Call any of them on here and they will steer you correctly.
