Default 03 cummins injector and cp3 question

I have a 2003 dodge cummins ISB250.i have the powermax cr and fass150gph.The other day i was ajusting my box to see what setting i was gona run at the trac.i set the box and shut the truck off,the next morning i got up started up the truck got about a mile down the road when all off a sudden i started slowing down i gave it sum throttle and looke dout and saw a huge cloud of white smoke and the engine began clatering and shuttering and then just shut down.I was told i could have messed up a few injector nozzels and also that the fuel actuator could also went out seating the checkball to one side.my question is if buy a set of 100hp nozzels and put them on if would be ok?i dont have a place to take the injectors to be tested.and also i was gon buy a arsonII cp3 upgrade kit which includes FUEL CONTROL ACTUATOR
SUPPLY PUMP
STREAMLINED HIGH PRESSURE CONNECTOR
HIGH PRESSURE CASCADE VALVE(exept)
REPLACEMENT CHECK BALL

I shot two shots of ether to see if it would run it violently fired up with a lil black smoke the went straight to white smoke and died. any feed back would be great.

Sounds like a dead injector and popped rail relief.

yeah I dont have a railpressure guage yet its on order, i figured it was something to do with the injectors so this morning i installed F1 100hp nozzels, and i took a multie metter and checked the solinods on the injectors do remember what they read but the readings were all just about the same.then i drained my water sperated filter, it was like half full. i hooked the smarty up and it read skim key non active(but the dealership told me smarty wont be able to tell me acuratly if it was active or not), and cam senor. so finally i gave up and dropped it off at the dealership waiting for in the morning to see what they say. yeah my friend and i tought it might be the relief valve while we were unloading it there but we wernt sure.hey thanks for the input ill call and make sure they check it.
F1 100hp nozzels-$600

Make sure you check that relief valve on the rail! If it bleeds off then there is no way the CP3 can make any pressure. About the only other problem I can think of is if you have a bad injector (Leaking or is 'open' all the time) then you won't be able to build rail pressure either.

Where is all that water coming from? That seems like a lot of water!! If you had water in your fuel and ran the fuel pressure higher with your tuner, it could have damaged an injector. I suppose it could have broken the relief valve. I would think that it would have to be over pressure for a while to do that though. How long have you ran the PowerMax?
I would not think it was your FASS. All it is supposed to do is supply fuel between 10 - 20 psi to the CP3. If it is coming on and pumping fuel to the CP3 then it is fine. . . . (Make sure you check the FASS' filters if it has any!)

Let us know what you find!

Could be loose injector tubes or bad orings on said tubes, if you are just changing nozzles your injectors could still be bad and causing very high return, could well be the limiting valve causing the problem. Start with the cheapest first, tube orings and re-torque. also if it starts and seems to be running ok drive it, it could take a couple miles to burn all the fuel out of the cylinders

There are few things besides what was already listed here. Turn the key on and listen to the fass in the morning does it sound like it's running dry and then priming? You could have a leak somewhere causing the fuel to drain from the line Crack your fitting at the CP-3 after it sits for a while and then havew someone turn the key on but don't start. See if air comes out first then fuel. that would show a leak! If all you did was put tips on your injectors that was a waste of time since you didn't have them tested. Freedom diesel in MT does it for 25. each! Ask for Isaac! replace the pressure relief valve just because! Keep us posted on your results! Did the dealer diagnos the CP-3? If so they owe you big time! Make them put your old one back in! AND try again!!
