Default amsoil air filter installed

Got my 4510 amsoil filter put in yesterday. MAN is it fun!!! whistles like crazy and feels like there is more power. Im gonna make a heat shield at work thursday to make it more of a cool air intake.

Very nice. Did you just attach the filter to the stock intake tube? Or how was it done? I am gonna be buying one for my truck here very shortly.

I used a sch. 40 3" to 4" adapter. Both ends were the perfect outside diameter. I gutted the torque tube awhile back but im gonna get something to replace it that is more free flowing. so far i like it! The cool tubes and other after market intakes are fine i guess but what i don't understand is they are only 4" the whole way. the factory tube is 5". and the elbows seem good, they are smooth inside as to promote airflow. So i don't know, im gonna keep the factory rubber elbows at least. take care

Im looking for a template to make a cold air box kinda like a icebox setup. I may end up just making my own design. Good luck!

I finally replaced my airaid filter that came with the quick fit kit... i just hated cleaning and oiling that darn thing.. anyways the 4510 was about 4" longer so with a little cutting with the grinder i was able to use the air box.. and yes a lot better whistle and better response

Just had to pipe in and say I finally installed the 4510 as well yesterday. Wow, sound is there. Have to hear it to believe it.
I just used a 4" pvc coupler. The intake and the flange diameter were pretty much the same size. The coupler was a hair too big. I had to really work it to get them on. Too bad it has to come off someday.
I bought a heat shield from objectmaker and it took 2 minutes to install. Very nice! Just had to cover one of the bolts with a few layers of duct tape as my filter wanted to lay right on the bolt.
