Question muffler removel

would this help with flow or do you need to remove the reseniator also, will it also lower my egt I have my smarty set at 90 hp with a K-N your thoughts please and your expert tees please ... I know I NEED TO GET GAUGES...

It will lower your EGT's if you remove the muffler, also get rid of the dang reseniator, all it does is get in the way. I lost my muffler at 10k and I will not be going back. I think that it will help with the flow, less restriction, they say that the muffler is the most restrictive in the system. I am no expert, so take this as my opinion.

Ok what's the deal I've seen some 06's with a resonator and other guys swear its not there. I know they have a Cat on them. You tell me??

Mega cabs have one and crew do not, to the best of my knowledge. I know that my crew does not have one.

Mega Cabs are the only one with the resonator. I did the ME kit, left the CAT and the resonator. The CAT is only a 1/2 lb back pressure, no biggie as far really making any difference opening things up. Removing it CAN cause some warranty issues, better to leave it until the warranty is gone. Many who removed the resonator said they got drone towing, I have no drone. It is a little louder but not really that noticable in the cab, deeper tone. I just recently did mine, should have done it sooner. Would do it again.

should I get a 5 inch exhaust with muffler or straight with out or a muffler delete or maybe a 4 inch exhaust ps mine is the mega cab.....

Unless you are using all of your toys, all the time, there is no reason to have a 5" and it will hinder your low end.

Get you a good 4" turbo back exhaust and you will love the increase in sound. With my experience the key to good sounding exhaust is the tip. The larger the tip the deeper the sound. ( Size Matters) If you want it louder then drop the muffler...... If you really want it loud then get Dual Stacks.....

will a four inch give me good performance with my smarty and is it enough to bild on later like increased air intake and and leaving the smarty turned up even when towing a trailer about 7000 lb
