Default programmer disc. once and for all

i defiantly understand that everyone has there own opinion, but that's what i'm looking for.... i have a banks six gun and look to change to a tst and smarty set up. but im not sold an any of the programmers yet. i would love if everyone would give me the pro's and con's of what they like and dislike. and not just the tipacle nontraceable, most power crap eather. i want the nitty gritty that way people can trully make a well informed descision. i would aslo like true output numbers to not just what they say on the damn pox. just so you know all opinions are appreciated

Okay, I'm running a smarty on my 07 and its truely a great programmer... I don't know how close my gains are with those on the box but you can definelty feel the gains when you change levels. I cruise mine in #5 and its perfect. What I don't fully like about using the smarty is that you have to stop to change you settings but on the plus side it only takes like 5 minutes to change what level your on. The other thing I'm not to keen on is that if you want to change the setting you have to have the programmer with you. Its not a big programmer so it doesn't take up alot of space, but after my truck was broken into last year, I'm not to big on leaving items like my smarty in my truck anymore.

With any programmer or box, be a good idea to get a rail pressure gauge. Like rkadcock says, the Smarty is a real efficient programmer.

--Im running the Edge Attitude w/juice, not the most impressed but haven't broke anything either. I've been reading over a lot of forums and the amount of people applauding the Smarty's are higher than any other programmer I've seen . The next chip I'll buy is a smarty and leave the attitude for gauges, just my .02....

i have a juice with att. its a good safe chip if you set everything to defuel. i also have a smarty, it has very low egts compared to juice for towing. i am just using juice att for gauges now.

I have a SMARTY on my 06..

Pros
  • Untraceable, This was proven to me at a Chrysler Dealership as we TRIED to find it
  • Low end TQ is unreal!
  • Able to disable TQ Management
  • Holds it's resale value, You can sell a used one for $75 less then a new and its gone quick
  • Adjustable Timing
  • Code Reader
  • GOBS of power

Cons
  • Cant adjust on the fly unless you get the POD option which is extra
  • No gauges built in you need to buy some
  • No defuel option so you can tear stuff up if you dont pay attention

I have a Bullydog Triple Dog and I will admit it's way better than stock and I'm running the Crazy Larry program which is pretty sweet, but it gets pretty hot and not very many options you can adjust like you can on the smarty, so I too will be getting a smarty and stacking it with TS MP-8 which I've heard is one of the best stacks a guy can do with a CR this is all when the funds allow however, so hopefully by the end of the year
