Is it a 4wd? If so, make sure the 4wd shifter wasn't bumped into neutral.

You might try flushing the trans. I have a Duramax with the allison trans. Did the same thing. Also try putting it in drive with the brake on and accelerate. That will push fluid through the lines with some pressure.
My truck would do that in the middle of town at a stop light. I would try to go and it would just kick out of gear like it was in neutral. I then would have to turn off the engine, wait a few seconds and reboot. Ya know I pissed off some people with my truck over that. Oh well, that's why I like my truck

Does your trany have an external filter and an internal filter? My Allison has 2 filters. The only other thing I can think of is maybe you're having some computer probs. But you said there's no dash warning codes Man I don't know, you'll have to let me know how that one comes out. My panel said (TRANSMISSION DISENGAGED)

NO ****!!!!
That was some good info. The dealership didn't even know what that one was.
