Injector question
For those who have changed out there injectors. How difficult of a job is it? Are there any special tools I would need? I would be changing just the nozzles not the whole injector does that make it a more difficult job? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
The FSM calls for DC's dedicated tool, but you don't need it if you're careful... be sure to pull them straight up, and pay attention to the inch-pound values for the solenoid nuts (pretty easy to break).
Don't forget to follow the correct alignment/torque procedure for the clamp bolts and fitting nuts when setting the bodies against the connector tubes, or you'll have a high-pressure leak that can cause hard starts.
If you haven't swapped them before, I wouldn't recommend doing so without an FSM or someone who successfully has (and X2 for the tips!).
