Default Stock vs. Aftermarket Manifold Pipe

Is there any benefit or do they just look good ? How much power has been made with the stock pipe on a 3rd gen truck. If there`s something to these things such as the blade runner, cfm plus,s&b,banks & so on I would be interested. But if I gotta choose between that beauty queen & a good lookin country girl, I`ll take the latter cause I know she`ll work.

If i were you, i would just make it out of 3" exhaust pipe. basically like the swanker intake except way cheaper. People report lower EGT's and some say faster spool time. If you have the time and equipment fab your own. I gotta do mine, just havent made room in the garage to work yet.

But how would just 3inch pipe stand up to the extreme heat and then the shrinking and cooling of it? I imagine you could get better performance and air flow but would it last?

I wouldnt buy one without some cold hard dyno #s. I know the banks and afe seem to make some power on the dyno. Havnt seen any #s with a ATS or CFM or S&B but S&B really does make good stuff. Anything will be beter than your stock one though. Im looking into the new intake banks has. Its diffrent from there last one and im likeing the multiple ports on it to use for whatever. CFM+ has some on it as well. You are talking of a intake right? Im almost thinking you asking about the exuast manifold. In that case you cant go wrong with either company that makes one. Suposedly ATS ones can crack but I havnt seen one myself crack. Remember somtimes you get what you pay for on performance parts.
