Default Banks 6 gun and PDA

Just curious as to why Banks isnt so popular with the CTD guys? It seems like the pda and 6 gun is a cool idea and has some features that i though would be popular. Just wondering why there doesnt seem to be many people running it.

this is my view on banks he is a very smart guy and i support his ideas on no smoke but from what ive seen all the banks tuners run way too hot. my buddy had the six gun with speed loader and the banks power pack it would get really hot until one day it melted down. then there are others that never have or had problems i dont know just what ive seen plus i like smoke it keeps the tailgaters away

The truck I have currently has been running the 6-gun since new in 03 when all it had was the **** and gauges. They have come a long way since then. The chip made great power for how safe it was, roughly 400hp and 780ish ft lbs with no trace of smoke. It's worked flawlessly till about 3 months ago, but its been giving me a great deal of issues lately. I assuming since its 6 years old the electronics are done? Time for an upgrade to go with my Smarty. Alot of people tend to shy away from Banks is because of the price and what you get for it HP wise. Yes there are better cheaper ways to get more power but at the cost of safety? Which is is why I don't understand how redsled's bud melted his down? As soon as Banks see 1250 degrees it defuels back to stock. I never saw a temp higher that 1200 ever, no matter what I was doing. Did he have his egt prob installed per instruction in the manifold or at all? But it pretty much boils down to price vs. power. alot of people that bash Banks have never even used the product before or the product doesn't suit their needs in high hp and egt's. My buds BullyDog hits 1850 no prob my other bud with Edge cruising down the hwy doesn't see below 900 while my truck is around 650.

Problem I have with Banks is his attitude. Always bashing his competitors saying they have no clue what they are doing. Also I have never seen someone dyno close to what he says they will. The chip/box/programer defuels before they get any "useable" power. If your letting off at 1250* playing around your missing all the fun

Also they are REALLY overpriced.

When I see a banks sticker on a truck I chuckle.

I agree. From what I could find reading is that the wiring is a little bit of a mess, the numbers they advertise arent what you will get and the price is high.
people that have them dont say they hate it but they arent posting recommending it either.

the reason why I started this thread is to make sure we cover all modules and programmers. I was looking into gettinga new system with a little more bling and couldnt find any banks info on here. I think it is important to cover all programmers and modules.

Yeah, this is a good thread. There's a similar one in the Duramax section, and everybody more or less agrees on the same things. I was pondering getting a Banks Big Hoss setup for my truck.
