Default MBRP or Silverline?

Hey guys, i'm new here and wanting to get some opinions. I have a 2006 2500 CTD quad cab 4x4 6 speed and currently have an MBRP 4" SS Catback but want something a little bit louder. I don't want a full straight pipe so that's out of the question. Which do you think would sound better? Keeping my MBRP catback and just removing the cat or taking it all off and getting a Silverline 4" Turbo Back exhaust? I know just removing the cat on my truck would be much cheaper, but i'm more after a great exhaust sound without being obnoxious when towing. My truck isn't a daily driver, I use it for work pulling a large car hauler and just for running around on the weekends. Thanks in advace I love your site!

I think MBRP makes a cat delete pipe.. if so, that would be MUCH cheaper than getting a whole new exhaust..

I think that its six and one half dozen of the other. You are gonna get the same results whether you get a Silverline or a MBRP exhaust or if you just cut the cat out. Its up to you all exhaust is about equal and the biggest you will need is 4" which already comes on the Cummins.

Thanks for the fast replies guys. Have any of you heard the 4" mbrp muffler with a cat delete on the cummins? I'm anxious about getting it done but afraid it would sound bad. Half the diesels in my area sound awsome, the other half like complete crap. Wish I knew which ones had what haha

The MBRP muffler replacement with the cat cutout will sound just like if you would have ordered a MBRP exhaust system. The ones that sound like complete crap are prolly the ones runnin around with stock pipe straight piped. To me they sound obnoxious so thats why i always run with a muffler to better control the sound quality.... well except on my 12vs

not 4" but 5". It sounds deeper, and a little louder. I'm going to do mine.

Well I went ahead and had it done yesterday. My MBRP catback came with enough excess stainless steel 4" pipe to delete the cat. All I have to say is it sounds awsome! I've had my truck for 2 years now and im as excited to drive it now as I was the day I got it. I would definately reccommend this set up to anyone. Sounds great, plenty loud on the outside, not a bit of drone on the inside with the windows up crusing 2100 rpms on the highway (G56). I wish I would have done it sooner! Thanks for the help everyone.
