Question About Smarty Jr

Question About Smarty Jr
Years back my diesel tech advised me to buy a Smarty Jr for my '03 3500 truck.
He had the truck, and I left the Smarty Jr with him to look at. He was using the "regular" Smarty
on his 2500.
I don't know if he "tried" my unit on my truck (or another), but I KNOW he did not leave a "tune" on my truck.
Question: If the Smarty Jr was ever used, BUT the programs were restored (stock tune replaced in truck
ECU and the Smarty tune "reloaded" into the Smarty) does that mean my Smarty is "LOCKED" to my VIN number or another vehicle he may have tried it with?
This was a long ways back and I now live half a country away from the tech, so I can't ask him if he played around at this point.
How can I tell? Someone who wants to buy my supposedly unused Smarty Jr told me if I plug it into ANY OBD II vehicle the window will show "###" if my unit is locked, but we aren't sure if just using it once and putting the tunes back unlocks it again so it could be used with another vehicle.
Thanks,
Bob
