I just feel like it was a lot quieter when I bought 3 months ago. Where are you located tho? i am in Oregon
If your still concerned you could check valve lash and verify the rockers move freely. We've seen some trucks eat cams and rockers. If they've done a reflash and a return flow test in MOST instances that will catch a injector that's causing issues. The tappets set on the driver side below the head is my reasoning behind looking into valve train.

That'll do it! Pretty sorry of your dealer not to catch that!

You should speak with them about it. All to often the managers have no choice but to trust the technicians ability. I'd go have a polite chat with the service manager and explain the situation. That's a very common issue on all makes/models and they should have caught it right off. It's a very distinct sound.

Well I would but I got a buddy discount the guy I called does side work out of the dealership shop. Yes I know its not okay but it was cheap he upgraded my ecm for 20 bucks where as at shop rate it would of been over 100$ the diesel tech that he had look at it was not on the same side job at looking at my truck I think he just did not want to get involved due to the fact that he would not be making any side money. But I don't know I guess that's what I get for trying cheap. I am just glad I stopped by a diesel shop that I know the owner and he pointed me in the right direction to start looking.
