Deadener is only 1 part of a 3 part process.

It's job is not to block sound. It is to make your panel resonate at a lower frequency. It will take the sound of tin and turn it to a thud.

If you want to get rid of rattles, you use CCF or closed cell foam. Put it between panels that rub/rattle together. CCF is also used as a decoupler for the MLV.

MLV - Mass Loaded Vinyl - is the equivalent to lead sheets, but in a rubber sheet form. It is dense and heavy. It is used to block sound.

In order to achieve real results, all 3 must be used, and used properly.

Yea Ive seen that used before but because it is an asphalt based product it doesn't stick to the metal in the car for more than a few months. all in all its a waste of time and money to do that half ***. I suggest doing it right the first time and never doing it again.
