On 01 and 02s anything from banks seemed to have problems ( especially the tuners). Are there any products out there that are like that on the common rails?

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

So no one has had any issues with any products?

How do you all feel about a power pup? I was given one today. My neighbor sold his truck cause he is going to Sicily for three + years and didn't have time to sell it.

Sell it and get efi live......

Reason for EFI Live is you can have multiple tunes.....one for emissions and one for fun....one for towing....or a do it all tune.

I would love to get an efi. But my budget doesn't cover it yet. The power pup was free. Right now my first priority is gauges, clutch and tires (265s w/4:10 gearing sucks) in that order. Tuner, injections etc... are in it future just not right now.

I don't get that. Is tinkering with your truck's ECM something of a hobby for people? Really? Even the experts get it wrong sometimes. I suppose if you enjoy sitting there waiting for the flash to apply, then re-doing over and over again on a regular basis that might be something good to occupy your time.

Or a great feature to sell an insanely overpriced programmer.

Personally, I'd rather leave that to the experts, just drive on a "do-it-all" tune and spend the money on fuel .

No body said tune it yourself. You can either get your truck flashed at a shop or buy an autocal and have tunes emailed to you or even buy a flashed spade tuner with several loaded tunes and have it shipped to your door. Theres no do it all tune, theres no one size fits all. That's the point of efi. Having a tune/s tailored specifically for your mods, your primary use of the truck, etc. Its not really expensive at all to buy a tune. Its only mildy expensive to get set up to write your own tunes. I can get efi put on any truck at local shop here for 300 dollars. Can buy spade tuners starting at 699 with 4 custom tunes. That's not expensive.

And when you get the itch to change something or it doesn't do exactly what you expected pay some more to try again.

It's just a new, more lucrative way for the vendor(s) to generate profit from a solution looking for a problem.
