Default 47re to 48re

I have 2003 2500 qclb my 47 is toasted. I would like to put in a 48re and i hear its a simple bolt in replacement. Now is there a diff computer i need or anything for this? I would live a 48 in cause i know its stronger

Personally I would rebuild your 47 with some upgraded parts...

I would think the programming would differ from a 47 to a 48 but don't know for sure.

Straight bolt in application with no programming changes needed.

As long as the 48re is a pre electron throttle valve. 03-04.5 all have mechanical TVs.

Nope, doesn't matter. A 07 48RE will work the same in an 03.

Yea the 47RH is a TV, 47RE is electronic....personally I kept my 47RE and just built it, its a lot cheaper to build up a 47 than a 48.

The 47 and 48 RE both have mechanical TV pressure control the same as the RH. The differenc ebetween the RH and RE is how the governor pressure is created.

Ok I gotcha on that, I couldn't remember 100%...guess I was thinking about the governor.
