Default Intermediate shaft Yes or No??

I am in the process of ordering a brand new Suncoast trans. As of now, it contains a triple disk TC, valvebody, double deep pan, billet flex plate, and billet input shaft. However, the people at suncoast tell me I need the billet intermediate shaft, while the people I know who race and pull professionally and a few diesel shop owners tell me I dont need it. I need some advise on what to do because I dont want to have a weak point that will cause problems for me after I spend $7000 on a trans (includes shipping and install).

P.S. My goal is to build around 600-650rwhp on a daily driver with mild towing duty, its my weekend warrior, so occasional drag races and maybe a sled pull once a year. I want to be able to use the power with out fear of trans failure.

Thanks in advance

My trans is full billet minus the intermediate , its been 800+ for over 100k and still going strong! My trans builder wont use a billet intermediate.

Yea that is what most of the guys who make big power tell me. I guess Suncoast just wants more of my money It doesn't really matter know though, because I am buying a fully billet Suncoast (minus the intermediate) from a diesel shop owner with only 5k miles on it and a brand new billet flex plate still in the wrapper for $4500 He even told me the intermediate was a waste and actually a lesser shaft than the stock one. Thanks for the advise man, I appreciate it

ive heard the same. Im getting tim at TRE to build mine and he was saying the same about not needing one so you should be fine...from what ive heard the billet is a harder material, so it is not able to flex, it just breaks. a stock is allowed to flex/twist ( to an extent ) which helps it not break as easy.
