My Drag Comp Pulls Harder On 1x1 Than 5x5?

A coupe of questions then. What's your EGT's runnin amd have you checked the air flow monitor on the air cleaner lately. No that I wuld put much stock in what they say but it's better then nothin. I just don't think your trucks drawin enough air through the intake myself. If your EGT's were runnin high I would look at the turbo being a problem.

My egt gauge is whacky. It stays at 500 then bounces around. So no way to tell. The "filter minder" if thats what your talkin bout its good. Thats a new filter element on it too. And I had a silver bullet turbo on first and had too much lag so i changed out to a silver 62.
(which with much thanks to II i swapped turbos in their parking lot, borrowing their tools, and even had their help heating and bending my drainback tube. Much thanks to II!)

what's your boost at? might you have a boost leak that's preventing full boost? you "should" be seeing 40-50psi from that silver 62..... i know on my HTT 64/71/14 it smiked like crazy and egt's were way out of control at 40psi but i put in the boost elbow and upped it to 52psi and the smoke cleared to a haze and the egt's were then amnagable with my right foot....

what you'll have to do is make plugs and pressurize from the turbo inlet to the cold pipe coming out of the intercooler. pressure check it and use soapy water to see leaks. obviously the motor isn't defuling since it's smoking like a freight train (ie an overboost situation as the box should have a boost fooler built in).... check all those connections and if those aren't leaking either get a boost elbow and install it or get a pair of vicegrips and clamp off the wastegate hose (for a short trip down the road) and see if it'll build more than 35pounds. that turbo aught to easily hit 45-50 w/o breaking a sweat......

Have to build a tester from PVC pipe. A 3 inch 90 degree, a 4-10 inch nipple and a cap.
Drill a hole big enough in the cap to push a replacement tire valve stem into and JB Weld it in place then glue the cap on one end of the nipple and the 90 on the other end and let it all dry.
Pull the air cleaner intake hose lose from the turbo ,leaving rubber boot in place and clamp this tester into the rubber boot. Usin an air tank or compressor pressurize the system up to about 20 psi and spray all the joints with some soapy water (dishsoap and water mixed up in a spray bottle) and any leaks will show up as air bubbles. Once that checks out then go up to whatever your highest psi is set at and do it again. Don't forget the innercooler itself.
You can use any configuration of pipe you want as long as when your done it all seals and you have a way to put air into it.
