Im sure a vendor will chime in with a definate answer but, when i read the fine print on a few sites it says HO core for New HO and SO core for new SO. I was thinking about going the other way when mine dies

Core may be an issue, otherwise it's a direct replacement.

You can swap no problem. Don't mention it's an h.o although I doubt it's an issue.

But seriously man, you have some bad luck

Yeah it sucked was on my way to casper with my buddies 10,000 dollar tool box and 30,000 worth of tools in my bed helping him out and going to a job interview to peterbilt up there and made it maybe 80 miles and was pulling a small hill in traffic with semis and all of a sudden it died. Didnt see fuel pressure or anything drop. May i add finishing the hill and coming to a stop on the side of the interstae at 80 with no power brakes was a whole lot of fun getting flipped off and all haha.

I talked to blue chip diesel about getting the level two pump with remanufactured and updated computer and all updated internals that are presently available instead of the basic rebuilt pump and he said they'd take my ho pump as core for a so pump just to make sure i order the so pump since they have 3 different part #'s per pump.

Best part was on the side of the road trying to see if i could bleed the pump with semis and idiot drivers flying by. Further diag found ive only got fuel coming out of 1 or 2 lines so the pump definately bit the dust hard. Just worried the air dog might have caused an issue because after the truck died i had to pull battery cables to get the ad to start working again. Thinking there might have been an issue with it attached at the battery. Going to swap it to the alternator when the new pump gets here.

This last two months has just been alot of bad luck with the wife in and out of the hospital thinking she has ms and just lots of other things, and ofcourse it crapped out when i didnt have money to get it.
