Default ideas for my 02

ok so i lost my vp the day after buying my newest truck... and no there isnt a programmer or any other mods yet. but what route should i take in fixing this issue.

i have isspro boost and egt gauges still in the box and im ordering a fuel pressure gauge right now. no pod yet the pod i have is for my 94.

i bought a replacment lift pump trying to see if that for sure wasnt the problem first to same some money but that didnt work out cuz im just going to have to spend more now. is there a pump to put behind the stock lift pump to help it out?

i found a local guy that deals used dodge parts and will put a warranty on used vp's i dont know the specifics of the warranty or the exact price. how much is too much to pay for a used vp?

if i put a programmer on it what should i go with? i would like maybe someday have 500+ without killing vp's and have to live with the clutch i have in it now for a while. i already have gauges so i dont need anything too fancy but would like to be able to turn it up and down while driving. i have a stock truck for now except strait pipe to a single stack and a bhaf yet to be installed and will have to live with whatever clutch is in it now maybe. i will get a different turbo in the future along with im thinking 50 or maybe 100hp injectors. this truck will be used to tow and as a dd.

Bad luck on the vp.

I have heard good things about FASS, airdog, etc aftermarket fuel systems.

If you want to make power start there as it sounds like you have done very little else except air/exhaust.

I will be installing one soon myself. Im leaning toward the Fass

Cheers,
Scott

Definitely upgrade your lift pump first!

Sorry to hear about the luck bud. First thing that I would do is look into getting something like a fass, air dog, or Raptor 150 lift. I personally prefer using the fass or airdogs with the built in filters so you can bypass the restriction of the factory fuel canister. And you get better water seperation and fuel filtration.

Also on these used vp's you found. Whats the prices on them? And how many miles are on them? Does he test them to insure quality as well.

im unsure on price on the used vp's just got a number from a friend to a guy who sells used dodge parts specifically cummins stuff in oklahoma.

i found one in an online junkyard for 750 but for another 250 i could have a new one with warranty so thats a no brainer.

maybe i will put the 12v out of the 94 in it. or swap the pump. im just not sure about gauges with the 12v swap. im thinking the tach adapter for the p-pump swap would work maybe. but unsure about speedometer. i know i could use aftermarket for temp and oil pressure. maybe a gauge pod to hide the dash .

DO what i did. Its pretty much the 24 Valve "starter package" get you the basics that everyone preaches for you to do before anything. Then you can do to the more fun stuff

Ya I got a bit of the starter stuff. Raptor pump is in and trying to find a fitting to install my gauges isspro boost egt and fuel pressure. And I know I will need a clutch in the future but I will wait to killmine first I'm thinking it may have an upgraded one in it.. I'm liking the quad and I can't bring myself to pay for edge juice. I'm just wanting to find out all I can on them before I drop a load of cash and am not happy with what I get. Oh ill update my sign but its got a straight pipe too.

I wouldn't pay more then $400, $500 MAX for a used, unknown condition VP. Warranty or not, warranty doesn't mean squat when your on the side of the road.

since you have gauges get a edge comp or drag comp you can find them used for a decent price
