Default Anybody put a toggle switch for the front axle lock?

I would like to be able to put my truck in low range without locking in the front diff. It's makes it easier to back in a loaded trailer in low range. I've heard of guys doing this. And today I was moving trailer around and thought about doing this to mine. Is there a thread somewhere showing how to do this?

Its not just a toggle switch. I wish it was that easy then everyone would have one. It requires a solenoid to reverse the vaccum on the CAD of the front axel and disengage it while selctor is in 4lo. Pac Brake sells the kit for about 90 bucks I believe. Get with the sponsors and they will hook you up with one.

There's a thread on how to make it with a vacum solenoid from a junkyard for a couple of bucks, happy hunting

I put a free spin hub kit with a CAD delete on mine....but that was because the passenger side unit bearing failed and the drivers side was pretty rough as well. Supposedly it helps the fuel mileage as well, but I'll have to let you know on that once I get home from deployment. My wife put all the stuff on for me while I've been gone (and SHE did the work herself)

BarryB - I've seen the boost solenoid work really well for people as long as they dont use 4wd for long periods of time (like the post said, 100% duty cycle isnt good for it)

ricet07- She's from Idaho I'm gonna keep her around for a LONG time...

I just put in the cable lock from alloy cost less than 130 if you shop enough now it's reliable too no more vacuum crap at all down there. I just throw the t case in low and don't lock in the cable so the axle doesn't lock works great.
