Like quadcab said you will have to put a bd rad box on it...

Or ppump it

Or put a full manual valvebody in it and get a manual recovery file for your smarty

We ran the RAD for a while then ppumped ours. The rad is kinda a pita it throws a cel every time you turn it on and you loose all the dash while its on.

Had the same problem with our 01

Sent with a Droid RAZR in one hand and 14,000 volts in the other.

Ppump would be nice but takes a lot of money.

Plus a lot of time, and the ability to adjust settings on the fly is gone.

I didnt like the rad at all. I mean it worked but i didnt like it.

You can always do the 3rd option

Sent with a Droid RAZR in one hand and 14,000 volts in the other.

You could put a "line lock" on your truck. Its what drag racers use to do their burnouts. It holds the front brakes only.

i dont think this is a lack of power issue... my buddy has same setup as i do other than a built auto and my edge comp tapped and stack w/ smarty and he can pretty much roll his 305's anytime he wants to. Not that this is anywhere close to a solution but i dont know that it is the torque management holding you back. I know his smarty is set on 8, torque all the way up, the rest on default and Comp on 3x5.

Is your fuel pressure holding good when you are braking and standing on it?
i'm by no means a transmission expert but could there be something slipping or TC not fully locking?

the 01 02 trucks have a torque management in the ecm that cuts the fuel back at 12psi of boost under 15mph thus making a burnout nearly imposible to do. adding fuel only makes it worse because it hits 12psi sooner. we ran into this when we added 150hp injectors on top of the edge thus we had to put the rad on for racing. full manual valvebody then a manual ecm recovery would do the trick but the trans wouldnt shift on its own. ppump swap done correctly the trans will still shift perfectly. both of those keeps the dash working.
